Complete the application fields
- Name — required. Use the recognizable internal name used in inventory, reports, and audit history.
- Description — optional. Explain the application's purpose so you can identify the correct system and scope later.
- Criticality — choose low, medium, high, or critical. This prioritizes review and reporting; it does not increase scan intensity.
- Data sensitivity — choose public, internal, confidential, or restricted to describe the data the application handles.
Edit an application
- Open Applications and select the application name.
- Select Edit above the target list.
- Update the name, description, criticality, or data sensitivity, then select Save changes.
- Confirm Griffin returns to the application's target list. Return to Applications to confirm the saved name and classification in the list.
Application example
Submit and confirm
- Review the application name and classification.
- Select Save application once.
- Wait for Griffin to return to the application list.
- Confirm the saved application appears in the paginated list with the intended criticality and data sensitivity.
Open the application's targets
- Open Applications. The list contains applications, not target URLs.
- Select the application name or View targets to open a separate page containing only its targets.
- Review each target's Authorization, Ownership, and Activation progress.
- Open a target's Actions menu to choose Authorize, Activate or Suspend, or Archive. These controls do not apply to the application grouping record.
